Description
Another rare and hard to find UK Jazz Stereo LP record from our private collection
"Elastic Rock" by Ian Carr & Karl Jenkins (later of Soft Machine) as the group they founded together - Nucleus. Rare UK Jazz Fusion from 1970 Verigo 6360 008 Recorded January 1970 Ian Carr was well known in the UK Jazz Scene when he formed Nucleus with Karl Jenkins. After this Jazz-Rock recording they went on to win First Prize at the 1970 Montreux Jazz Festival. Jenkins joined Soft Machine in 1972 and co-led them towards the end of their career in 1984. He participated in the live version or Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells for the BBC in 1973. As well as his playing skills, his compositional talents are highlghted on this album. These were later demonstrated in his work for advertising jingles for De Beers Diamons, the Papa?/ Nicole? series for Renault and then full blown classical and choral works. Condition Vinyl - Excellent, it looks and plays near mint. No scratches, clicks or pops. Labels have the characteristic Vertigo Spiral, are very clean and clear and show very little evidence of play. Cover - The matt gatefold cover has some scuffs (see photos). On the front the die cut part has two scuffs, there is also ring marking and some scuffs around the sides. The inner gate is in very good condition as is the matt back except for some ringing and the edge scuffs described above. Inner sleeve - Original and intact with the Vertigo Spirals, just some slight discolouration on the edges.
