Description

Now impossible to find, this debut release from Elbow was strictly limited to 150 copies and a further 50 numbered copies and was recorded in 1998. This is an un-numbered copy. It contains original and superior versions of "Powder blue" and "Red", the latter entirely unlike the version subsequently released as a single on V2 Music records, plus three other tracks "George lassoos the moon", "Theme from Munroe Kelly" and "Can't stop". See the Elbow website for confirmation that this CD did exist; it will not be found on any other website selling CD collectables due to the extreme rarity of this item.
Please note that this CD was produced with very limited packaging as it was put out by the band themselves ("soft records", the catalogue number of the CD is "Softrec 001"). It uses a generic jewel case and the CD itself is covered with a full-size white adhesive label with artist, track listing and softrec catalogue number. However the genuine nature of this item should not be doubted; the tracks included are full fidelity recordings, not sourced from the internet, and the tracks themselves are extremely hard to find. Anywhere. The CD was purchased from the famous Piccadilly Records in Manchester after I saw the band play at an "In the city" festival. I'd imagine that this shop was the only one selling copies.
