Tennessee ranks second to none in the caliber of its elected officials and has produced some of the most colorful politicians in our nation’s history. It is appropriate and fitting, therefore, that a few of them be recorded in an album which good naturedly high- lights some of the color associated with them as well as giving each a chance to reflect seriously on his philosophy. Many more politicians could have been included but these are the ones I have person- ally known, admired and worked with through the years. First comes Governor Winfield Dunn followed by our two Senators Howard Baker and Bill Brock. Then a succession of five Congressmen—Jimmy Quillen of thefirst district, John Duncan of the sec- ond district, Lamar Baker of the third district, Robin Beard of the sixth and Don Kuykendall of the eight district—round out the elected officials. The icing on the cake is an original recitation by the one man who has single handedly influenced the thinking of America more than any other one person while maintaining political neutrality —Johnny Cash. I would be greatly remiss if credit were not given to Dr. Billy Burks, professional musician turned de- ntist in whose beautiful new Hendersonville record- ing studio “Doc’s Place’’ the album was cut. And profound thanks to Carmine Lombardo who pro- duced it and has two children—Sharon and William. Benny Williams’ wit pulled the whole album to- gether and the two engieers Michael Jackson and Barry Ingle made the entire album possible. Finally, my deep appreciation to Jeff Buntin, Bun- tin Advertising Agency and Bill Holly artist for con- tributing the art work.
