Description

For sale is Ella Fitzgerald Sings The Harold Arlen Song Book, originally released in 1961 by Verve Records, in a double album set with a gate-fold presentation that includes an 11-page illustrated booklet inside. This record has the original black labels with silver print, "MGM Records" at the bottom and the "V" prefix, which were only used between 1961 to the early 1970's. These pressings are sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record set used, professionally cleaned them on my VPI HW-17 and immediately put the records into two MFSL archival inner sleeves. Doing this preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any original insert(s) or inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. There are no original inner sleeves with this listing. The cover is graded as G+ because of ring wear, corner blunts, edge rubs and 2 seam splits on top with another one starting on the bottom. The ones on top are both about 3" at each of the top right hand corners. There is 1" seam split in the middle of the bottom front cover and little paper loss at the bottom right hand corner. The spine has some color loss (and the beginning of other seam splits) and rubs at each corner. The Vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of faint sleeve marks and slight surface scratches. I'm play grading this album between G+ and VG because of an occasional pop or tick, (Ticking was noticed for about four rotations at the beginning of Side 4) along with some surface noise, more noticeable during the quiet parts of playback. Still very listenable with lots of dynamics with Ella's voice centered and focused. I have more Jazz records listed in my Ebay store, as well as albums of all different genres. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.    I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
