Description
This is a very interesting case of a B side eventually becoming more important and collectable than the original A side. In 1971, Lois Lane (slight change of name from 'real' name, Lois Ann Wilkinson) who had already enjoyed pop success as half of the successful all-girl duo of the Caravelles, released the single 'You Are The Reason' on the DJM label (DJS255) - a perfectly acceptable, very enjoyable beat-ballad arranged and conducted by Johnny Arthur. But flip the record over and you find her tremendous version of 'Come Diwn In Time', a track written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, which appeared on the excellent Tumbleweed Connection album. Lois sings her socks off here and the arrangement by Zack Laurence is brilliant. If you're an Elt completist you need this, if you just enjoy his songs you still need this and if both, you have to have this! The A side has a very slight cosmetic flaw but plays really well, so a minimum of vg condition, with the Elton side worth a vg+ rating. The original DJM sleeve is in vg+ condition nearly half a century down the line. To make it even more desirable this is an 'Advance Promotion Copy' sent to me for review on release and virtually unplayed since.
