Elvis First Release! That's All Right/Blue Moon of Kentucky, 1954, Sun UPSIDE Down 209
This is a true first release as side one has "Wabash, BMI, 209" on the left side of the label and side two has "PEER" and the "209" is upside down.
Side One: That's All Right plays all the way through with cracks and pops and the hiss normally for Sun records using a modern cartridge. It skips once with about 10 seconds to go.
Side Two: Blue Moon of Kentucky plays all the way through with the same attributes, BUT skips three times. Once early and twice right near the end.
ALSO, this record is cracked around the outer edge of the label from 6 PM to about 10:30 PM in reference to side one. It is a clean crack and "snapped" right back into normal position with little effort.
Side one push mark is beneath the T & S in THAT'S, the side two push mark is beneath the CK of Kentucky.
When Memphis Plastic Products put the first Elvis Presley 45 into production, they ran the labels out with the record number up on the left hand side of the label, instead of the center / bottom. They also made a typesetting error putting the 209 on "Blue Moon" upside down on the label. These were quickly caught in the production run, and were corrected, then eventually recast with the 209 at the center / bottom where it should have been.
Promos of this single have the upside down 209, and a few stock 45s (the first off the press) have turned up over the years. It is unknown how small of production this mistake had, but it is thought to be a very small run.
