Description

These came directly from Joan Deary to me.  I knew Joan and Janelle McComb for many years.  Joan was always doing things for Elvis' birthplace in Tupelo, MS.  Joan and Janelle were very good friends.
Joan brought these "Tupelo 45s" in 1982 to give out at the birthplace. When you went through the shotgun house on the grounds of the birthplace, you received a record from Joan after exit.
Cost to go through the house at that time was only $1.
Needless to say I went through many times just to get this rare beauty.  Janelle was the person that picked out the songs on this 45 rpm gold label.  American Trilogy and The Impossible Dream.  Both songs were 2  of  many of Janelle's favorite Elvis songs.
The record became an instant collectors item.  Less than 7,000 were pressed on RCA label.
Needless to say, the 45 rpm is brand new and never played.  Stored in the original box of 25 that they came in since 1982.
I did not realize it in 1982 just how much I would miss those days at the birthplace.  My wife and I always visited the birthplace since the early 1970s.  Thanks to the Tupelo Garden Club and Mrs. Boyd for preserving the Elvis birthplace house years before Elvis' passing. The city council of Tupelo did not help or care much about the famous home until after Elvis' death.  I guess there eyes where full of dollar signs after Elvis' death. Then all of a sudden the Elvis home became important.
Anyway, the 45 rpm was listed shortly after premiere as $150 in Osborne's book.  As usual, Osborne's book is about double pricing for most of Elvis vinyl collection.  I figure the 45 rpm is at least $75 value.  Which should be a fair price for a mint item.
I have listed this rarity at only $65. beginning price.
I accept paypal. $7.50 for priority shipping within the US. International buyers pay shipping rates depending on location.
