Elvis Costello    "My Aim Is True"

This is a US vinyl pressing on Columbia JC 35037  from 1977.    This is his first album.      This is a white label promo copy with a time strip on the front cover.       The back cover is stamped in gold,  'For Promotion Only' at top left.        The back cover has a yellow background and there is no bar code.    This album has the song 'Watching The Detectives", which was not on the UK version.   There is a small hype sticker on the front cover : "New from CBS Records'.       There is a hype sticker on the back cover about 'Who is Elvis Costello'.      This album was produced by Nick Lowe.

His back-up band on this album was 'Clover' , with John McFee on guitar, Alex Call on guitar and vocals, Sean Hopper on keyboards, John Ciambotti on bass, and Michael Shine on drums.   (Huey Lewis did not play on this album)

The matrix numbers are machine stamped : Side 1 : P AL 35037-1D and Side 2 : P BL 35037-1C  

The songs are : Welcome To The Working Week, Miracle Man, No Dancing, Blame It On Cain, Allison, Sneaky Feelings, Watching The Detectives, (The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes, Less Than Zero, Mystery Dance, Pay It Back, I'm Not Angry, Waiting For The End Of The World.

Overall Condition is : Cover is M- /  Record is M-

The cover is mint minus with no ring wear, no writing and, no seam splits.        There is a tiny name on the front cover in the yellow background at top right.       There are two very tiny pen marks on the back cover at middle right.            The vinyl looks near mint and it plays near mint.    The labels are clean with no spindle marks.  The record comes in a plain white inner sleeve.

I started collecting records in 1966.     I started selling in Goldmine in 1985.      I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby.       And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon.     On Discogs I am 'Fragilerecords'.       My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.      I am a record collector, not a DJ, so I almost never play my records.

Packaging :

I take great care on every package and I do each one personally.     I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard.     Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard.       Together they are very strong and unbendable.   ( Even the postmen comment on how strong this cardboard is ! )       I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve.     The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides. 

Postage :  Weight : 1 pound 6 ounces

You have to pay for the postage.     I pre-weigh every package, so that you pay the exact amount the post office charges.   There are NO handling charges.     This record will weigh 22 ounces ( 1 pound, 6 ounces ) when ready to ship.      US winners can choose between Priority or Media Mail.      I will print postage through Paypal and you will get an automatic email with the tracking number.      Overseas winners will get shipping by First Class Mail International.    I will print postage through Paypal and you will get an automatic email with the customs/tracking number.     I will send your record as soon as you pay ( same day if before 3 PM and next day if after 3 PM : Monday thru Saturday)
