You are bidding on ELVIS COSTELLO & THE ATTRACTIONS - THIS YEAR'S MODEL ORIGINAL UK ISSUE with the following message scratched into the runout plastic on side one:

 "Special pressing No. 003 Ring Moira on 434 3232 for your special prize". 

I bought the album on the day of release and following the discovery of the messages on the runout plastic of Costello's previous releases that I had bought, I duly checked the runout on this album. This was the most exciting yet! I immediately rang the number and a lady took my name and address details. I asked what the prize was and I recall her saying something along the lines of, "It's not been decided yet." 

Apparently, it had been done as a joke but nobody had told the office about this little jape and it wasn't until the calls started coming in that they quickly got something knocked up! The prize they came up with was a printed autographed approx 8" x 10" photo of EC with the message he'd written on the photo of "Thanks For Writing - I'm Busy In Paradise Right Now" This print was on quite flimsy paper and not photo card. Plus, they sent a small button badge that read 'This Year's Model - Made In 1955 for 1984". I don't think anyone knows exactly how many people responded and therefore, how many prints and badges were actually sent out. 

It also comes with the Freebie 7" of Stranger In The House b/w Neat Neat Neat (Live On The Stiffs Tour) of which were limited to being included with the first 5000 copies of the album.

The records, both album and 7" are in anti-static sleeves and are kept outside of their respective sleeves to reduce the effect of ringer on the sleeves. Then, each of the 7" and album are house in outer protective poly sleeves. The original shrink wrap is still on the main sleeve and features the hype sticker which says, "Free Album With This Single".

As the shrink wrap was kept on the main sleeve it has warped the main sleeve along the side where the record is inserted, see photos. This could probably be corrected over time by taking the shrink wrap off and placing the sleeve between other records or books. Other than that the sleeve is is fantastic shape with virtually non edge wear. The inner sleeve is in excellent condition and record in in near. mint condition. The printed autograph photo print and badge are also in excellent condition. Please see extensive photos.
