Description

An original 1st stereo press of FIA on the UK Silver spot RCA label. Matrix 1W/2W. Stampers 1B/1B - under the Buckingham sequence this was the very 1st stamper..nice provenance! Note the labels mention 'Recording 1st pub 1963'. Please note this title at 1st pressing IN STEREO is a really hard find..STEREO was still very much in its infancy at this point in time. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original STEREO flipback cover with pinched spine. Also included is an original Decca poly-lined sleeve from the mid-sixties.
Vinyl (Ex-) In really very nice condition for this vintage and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side, a couple of very superficial trails - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback. Very nice clean rendition for the most-part. There's little to find fault with here. A stereo copy from '63 playing to this standard is a real find. Expect a touch of lightest back ground in a couple of spots per side. By and large a corking rendition.
Cover (Ex-) Again, original copies from 1963 have no right to surface looking like this - and many do not! Very nice and clean and unaged front. There's a few light creases over toward the opening. The rear seems to have escaped the worst of the ageing that usually afflicts these copies from the early 60's. Edge wear is limited and and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) No splits. Light ageing.
