Description

Here's a real Elvis obscurity - A custom SUN LABEL on a RCA 45. These were made for the ten year reunion party at Graceland for the Rhodes College (formerly Southwestern at Memphis) class of 1985. One side is "Can't Help Falling In Love" and the other is Rock-A- Hula Baby. The matrix numbers are M2PW-2988 and M2PW-2989, just like the RCA reissues, but the title on one side reads LET'S HAVE A PARTY (at the home of) ELVIS PRESLEY! The "Let's Have a Party" label side actually plays "Can't Help Falling In Love,"so the labels are reversed! Very strange! Since this party was at Graceland, I'm assuming that these were sanctioned by Elvis Presley Enterprises, and not just done up without consent. I've never seen or heard of this before, and, Rhodes being such a small school, there can't be too many of these around. A REAL COLLECTOR'S ITEM FOR THE ELVIS FAN ON YOUR CHRISTMAS LIST!
