Description
Love Me Tender, the title song from Elvis' first movie made by 20th Century Fox, was released as a single in late September, 1956 by RCA Victor Records and went to #1 on the Singles chart. The song, a ballad, is based upon the Civil War ballad "Aura Lee" with new lyrics created to fit the movie. The 'B' side of the record is Any Way You Want Me, a slightly faster, torch song - type ballad, also a well-known recording by Elvis.
The record for sale under this listing is Graded as Very Good Plus (VG+). It was purchased around the time of its release in 1956 and has been carefully maintained throughout the years. Although it has no visible scratching on either side, there is some slight scuffing but the latter does not impact significantly on the sound reproduction. The record sleeve (as pictured) was colored green on both sides when manufactured by RCA Victor Records and one side contains a photo of Elvis. The sleeve is also Graded as Very Good Plus (VG+) and is fully functional.
