Description

Original US pressing of the 1966 Gold Standard Series single MILKY WHITE WAY / SWING DOWN SWEET CHARIOT (RCA 447-0652). This auction has TWO copies of the original sought after picture sleeve, and ONE 45rpm record - in this case the white label "not for sale" promo record.
PICTURE SLEEVE --- There are two copies of the picture sleeve as I bought a second one as an upgrade but never let go of the other one. The better sleeve is a VERY solid one - considering its age it is in excellent condition. The only "issue" it has is the writing on the upper left-hand "By Request" corner (numbers "0652" - see photos), and a very faint hint of ring-wear. The second sleeve is the original that came with the record, albeit now just an extra but it is included in the auction all the same - it has a 'scratch' going across Elvis' chest as well as a big sticker mark in the upper left-hand "By Request"corner (see photos). Both also show slight "wrinkles" on the opening.
45RPM RECORD --- The record seems to be essentially NM, couple surface scratches but other than that, nothing. Just a shiny surface. Both labels also look exceptional - the "Swing Down Sweet Chariot" side has a sticker removal mark on top of "Chariot" (see photos) but other than that, they're pretty much perfect. And as mentioned, it is the white label promo version of the record.
Will be in a protective poly sleeve with the record separated from the sleeve(s).
The record is not play-tested but if you have any questions, send a message.
