Description
Very rare 1955 Sun Records 217. This is an original which includes the 3 factory push marks. "Baby Let's Play House" and "I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone". The Sun recordings out of Memphis are the beginnings of Rock and Roll and are the corner stone of the Elvis legacy. A must for any Elvis or rock and roll collector. Originally purchased by my dad in 1955 and kept in the family. The record was stored upright in a protective sleeve inside a sturdy booklet designed for storing and protecting 45's. Condition is very good. Sound quality very good, no pops or scratches. Some light surface marks. Label is clean, no writing, tears or scratches. Matrix etchings in the dead wax area are 'U-143X-45-2 72' and 'U-142-45 72'. The number '72' is the number given that particular copper pressing plate.
The 3 factory push marks are easily visible and an indication of the record's authenticity. The push marks are actually filled holes. The holes were originally needed to keep the vinyl disc from slipping while the record was being cut. The holes were filled in later during the process.
"Baby Let's Play House" was the fourth recording by Elvis, while he was still a relative unknown. The flip side of this 45 is the slightly less popular song " I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone".
