Hello and welcome to my listing, which is for a large collection of 78rpm records from the 1920s right through to the 1960s. There are 926 in total but I'll say 920 incase I have miss counted. There are some gems here, now I should really list these in separate lots but I need the space for storage whilst me house gets rewired. In this collection there are Elvis Presley, and one of the Elvis records is a rare pressing of Jailhouse Rock, with one side having just a plain hand written lable. There is also Buddy Holly, Cliff Richard and The Shadows, including a VG copy of Summer Holiday which is a very rare Indian pressing, others include Everly Brothers, Connie Frances, Gene Vincent, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, The platters, Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers.
One of the boxes contains mostly comedy/ novelty records, such as George Formby, Stanley Holaway, Frank Crumit, and Rob Wilton. Another box is full of jazz and swing dance bands, then another box of mixed 1950s, such as Johnny Ray, Frankie Lane, David Whitfield, Guy Mitchel, Dean Martin, Frank Sinartra, Winafred Atwell, there is even a very good copy of Petulia Carks first ever record from 1949 on Columbia lable.
There is another box that contains around 120 organ recordings by Reginal Dixon, the genius who played the organ in Blackpool tower ballroom for 40 years plus a few other organist playing Wirlitzer organs. There is another small record case that contains 48 Nat King Cole 78s.
Most of these records are in VG to Ex condition and are all playable and are all in card or paper sleves. The winning bidder of this lot will be very happy and could easily make money selling in seprate lots or single records on their own, I just simply need the space. This is my own personal collection of over 20 years collecting, and it is sad to see them go, but I've made the reluctant decision to let them go.
Now, for obvious reasons, this has just to be a collection only sale. Only other thing is that I know many of you out there would love to come and cherry pick and make offers for what you want, but sorry no, this sale is for the whole lot to give me the space. However, I do realise that all these take up a lot of space, so after the auction has ended I don't mind the winning bidder coming and taking just what they want as long as the full bid price is paid and I can get a friend of mine to run any the buyer doesnt want to a charity shop on the buyers behalf.
The uploaded photos show just a few of whats included and my small sony camera doesn't really do them justice, rest assured they are all in sleeves plus there is a good few spare sleeves included.
