You have the opportunity to bid on this EXCELLENT copy of "Don't Be Cruel / Hound Dog" (47-6604) by ELVIS PRESLEY. I am gradually listing to sell my Elvis record collection, which I began putting together shortly after The King's untimely demise in 1977. My collection of First Pressings is quite vast and is only missing the Sun singles along with the Monaural versions of "Elvis' Gold records, Vol. 4" and "Speedway", which are very rare. I have always strived for the best quality that I could find, upgrading inferior examples along the way. I plan to list primarily 1968 and earlier material, which is the most popular amongst collectors.

This Elvis single was as we all know, a "Mega Hit" for The King in his biggest year ever,1956. This RCA Victor record was yet another Gold Record for 21-year-old Elvis and somehow survived being played thousands of times! This copy is so clean and glossy, I was tempted to grade it as NM- but thought that EXCELLENT would be best as grading is so subjective. This and the previous 47-6604 that I have listed were obviously adult-owned all of their lives. How does a huge hit single like this NOT get played hundreds and hundreds of times?! There is just the lightest of hairline scuffs on this record caused by repeated removal from the paper sleeve; definitely nothing that would affect the sound quality. This record retains full original gloss! The labels are super clean and original too! This record is in terrific condition for being over 55 years old! The Picture Sleeve grades VG+ with no tears, split seams, writing, grafitti or stickers ever! This is the scarcer of the two sleeves as this one shows "Don't Be Cruel" above "Hound Dog!", unlike the majority of these which show the song titles the opposite way around! See the photos and judge for yourself. This record will come with an additional plain sleeve to prevent further damage to the Picture Sleeve.
