Description
ELVIS PRESLEY - “ELVIS” (LPM-1382), A FIRST PRESSING OF ELVIS' 1956 SECOND ALBUM. THE COVER IS THE RAREST VARIETY, SHOWING THE SONG TITLES SHIFTED FAR TO THE LEFT ON THE BACK! RECORD: VG+ on the high end of the grade with very clean, glossy surfaces! Even though this record plays as Near Mint, there are many extremely light hairline scuffs on both sides, none of which can be felt with the fingertip. I have test-played this record in its entirety and it resulted in very strong vocals and instrumentation. There were certainly no skips, repeats or loud "ticks" or "pops". I did not even detect any surface noise and that includes the soft track, "Old Shep"! A fully original Indianapolis pressing! The labels are very clean and original, showing just light spindle marks. "ELVIS" was released in September of 1956 and includes the huge hit, "Love Me", which was released exclusively on 45 Extended Play (EPA-992). The matrix numbers are the absolute lowest obtainable, ending with 1S/1S! COVER: VG with a 5-inch upper seam split as well as a 2-inch lower seam split (please see photos). The spine is sound and fully legible. This is the RAREST cover variation available, with the song title text on the back being shifted far to the left. There is some minor yellowing on the back from age as well as some very light ring wear. Ring wear on the front slick is quite minimal, although there is a 5-inch bend line running up from the end of the lower seam split. Aside from that, this is a very clean and original cover from 1956! Please view all 11 photos of this historic album. INNER SLEEVE: The original glassine (or "onion skin") sleeve from the era. Side splits and wrinkling are noticed.
GOOD LUCK! I COMBINE SHIPPING! $4 for the first LP, then 25 cents for each additional LP. I HAVE RESUMED INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING! Please do not ask me to tilt my integrity by asking me to place a low value on the Customs form or by checking "Gift" instead of "Merchandise". I ship all records in the CORRECT cardboard record mailers, specifically designed for shipping these historic and tough-to-replace treasures to your doorstep in the same condition as when they leave my hands. USPS has been known to find a way to bend these boxes on occasion, hard as that may be to believe, so items valued at $30 or more will be shipped automatically with insurance at no additional cost to the buyer (in the U.S. and Canada only). ALL of my records are U.S. pressings unless otherwise stated. Payment is expected within 5 (Five) days from close of auction via PAY PAL ONLY – NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE. I normally ship within three business days from close of auction, but please allow a little extra time in the event of a holiday. Returns are accepted if you are accepted if you are not completely satisfied with your item. I strongly believe that my grading of records is spot-on, but we’re all human and something may occasionally be missed upon inspection. I will do my best to ensure customer satisfaction. 2017 marks 39 years of experience for me in this wonderful hobby. I specialize in Elvis Presley.
