ELVIS PRESLEY - "ELVIS PRESLEY" (LPM-1254) - His Very First Album From 1956. "Just Because" Credited to "P.D." (Public Domain)!

RECORD: VG First Pressing showing several light surface scratches. One of which is on "I Love You Because" and I was suspicious enough to play the song to be sure that it would not skip. The entire track played very well with great fidelity! A few minor "ticks" were noticed, but nothing that I would call "distracting". The remainder of the record should play just as well or better! The vinyl does retain much original sheen. The labels are clean, with just spindle marks being the only thing of notice and mostly on the Side 2 label. As mentioned above, "Just Because" is credited to "P.D." (Public Domain), which was in error on the earliest pressings of this album. Later copies show the song credited properly to "Bob Shelton-Joe Shelton-Sid Robin". This is an Indianapolis pressing with matrix numbers ending with 3S/1S, respectively. 

COVER:  VG- and is quite clean for being 58 years of age. BUT...someone thought that it would be a good thing to utilize some invisible tape on the spine and upper & lower seams to "protect it". The entire upper seam is taped, the lower seam has about 5-inches at the center and the spine has about 8-inches going from the top, down. In spite of the tape, this classic cover remains very attractive, with just some bending to the upper right-hand corner. there is no writing, stickers or staple holes present. This is truly an iconic album of early Rock n' Roll performed by the King himself, very early in his career. A real "must-have" for the collector of Elvis Presley records and/or memorabilia.
