ELVIS PRESLEY - “ELVIS PRESLEY” (LPM-1254), A CLEAN FIRST PRESSING WITH LIGHT PINK "ELVIS" COVER!          RECORD: VG with many light scratches & scuffs, none of which can be felt with the fingertip. This Rockaway pressing has not been tested, but I would at least expect some sporadic "ticks" and general surface noise. The "Long Play" labels are clean and original, but do show some light spindle marks as well as some fingerprinting. As all Elvis fans know, this is Elvis' historic debut album, released in March of 1956. Every track on this album was released as on 45 RPM as well as 45 Extended Play. The matrix numbers on this record end with 16S/9S.       COVER: VG++ (EXC) with absolutely no tape, writing, staple holes or stickers. There is, however, a 3/4-inch split to the lower right corner at the open end. this is very minor when taking into the consideration the overall condition of this cover! I cannot even claim "ring wear" to be present; just some very light surface scuffing from contact with other LP's. The lower edge is clean and solid aside from that short aforementioned split. The upper edge as well as the spine are solid and fully legible, although some very light soiling is noticed. There is an unexplained rubber-stamped "3" inside of a triangle that is on the back side in light blue ink. Some corner tip wear is noticed. What a clean cover for being 62 years old!                INNER SLEEVE:  A period-correct RCA Victor sleeve from circa 1957.
