ELVIS PRESLEY - “ELVIS PRESLEY” (LPM-1254), A FIRST PRESSING OF ELVIS' 1956 DEBUT ALBUM, IN STRONG VG++ CONDITION! RECORD: VG++ (EXC) with very clean, glossy surfaces! A fully original Indianapolis pressing in high grade that plays like a new record from beginning to end. Absolutely no skips, repeats or noticeable "ticks" heard during test play! There is what appears to be a stain on Side 1 and Side 2 on Track 1 of each side, but it is more than likely some sort of as-made anomaly in the vinyl itself because it is in the same place on each side. This, in no way, has any effect on the audible performance! This album was obviously purchased new by an adult in 1956 and it was very well cared for as the labels have just a few very light spindle marks. These labels are simply gorgeous! Elvis' debut album was released in March of 1956 and every song on it was released on 45 RPM as well as this full-length album. Elvis was the HUGE musical sensation at the time and also, RCA Victor's very first Rock 'n' Roll singer! The matrix numbers on this record end with 6S/5S, respectively. COVER: VG- with an 8-inch upper seam split as well as a likewise lower seam split (please see photos). That is really the only downside to this entire album. The spine is sound and fully legible. There is some yellowing on the back from age as well as some minor record rack impressions to the lower portion. Ring wear is very minimal, resulting in a highly attractive appearance, especially on the front! INNER SLEEVE: The original glassine (or "onion skin") sleeve from the era. Side splits and wrinkling are noticed.
