You have the opportunity to bid on this scarce "Dog On Side", 1965-68 reissue of "ELVIS SINGS CHRISTMAS SONGS" (EPA-4108) by Elvis Presley. Originally released in 1957 on the RCA Victor label, this Extended Play 45 RPM features four songs from the highly prized "Elvis' Christmas Album" (LOC-1035); "Santa Bring My Baby Back (To Me)", "Blue Christmas", "Santa Claus Is Back In Town" and "I'll Be Home For Christmas". This particular record has some scratches and I played it to be sure that it would be acceptable to a prospective bidder. Lo! and behold, RCA Victor's "New Orthophonic High Fidelity" still shines through the scratches! Zero skips and zero repeats!! There is some crackle; less on Side 1 than on Side 2 and I grade it as VG- due in part to a slight warp toward the outer half of the playing field. This in no way, was detectible upon play! These "Dog On Side" labels are more scarce than the million-selling original EP's of 1957 with the "Dog On Top". The cover grades NM- with vibrant colors! There is no corner or edge wear to speak of and no dreaded seam splits! The front slick remains very clean and glossy and the white areas are still quite white, but there are a few faint marks and light scuffing from contact with other records over the past 55 years. A very presentable copy for any collector to hold in his or her collection. I began collecting just after The King's untimely demise in 1977 and it just expanded from there. Prior to the internet, my collecting sources were "Goldmine" and used record shops, even garage and estate sales. I amassed a large collection of First Pressings, everything except for the Sun Labels and a couple very rare 1968 monaural issues ("Speedway" and "Gold Records, Vol. 4"). Very few of the records that I am placing on ebay grade less than VG, as I have upgraded many records over the years. Now that I am 50, I am looking to reduce volume and keep mainly my 1970's material as I am particularly partial toward the "Jumpsuit era". I will be listing some post-1968 material (my duplicate records) as time goes on for those that are interested.
