Description
This is an auction for an ORIGINAL copy of the release of the Compact 33 extended play Elvis By Request - Love Me released in 2012 (although not officially by RCA)
The record itself ( LPC-123 ) is in MINT / UNPLAYED condition and retains ALL of it's natural sheen.
The labels are also CLEAN and have NO WRITING!!
This also has the unusual quirk of having the label mis-pressed off centre on side 2 but the label only goes into the trail off and will not affect playback. (see photos)
This also has the unusual feature of having the smaller "drill hole" centre , rather than the larger USA jukebox hole. (seer photos)
The thick cardboard sleeve has NO SPLITS, RIPS, TEARS or WRITING!
This was due to come out originally in December 1960 / January 1961 to remind the record buying public of a pre army Elvis as they were not too sure how he would be received after his discharge and this was going to be pressed on the revolutionary 33 1/3 format (which never really took off) rather than the standard 45 rpm speed , however the plans were abandoned due to the success of current new recordings releases such as It's Now Or Never , Elvis is Back and Elvis' big screen comeback of G.I Blues.
Elvis' 1 and only Compact 33 release of By request (same title but different catalogue number) was released in 1961 , however the tracks had changed again to tie in with Elvis' current film Flaming Star.
This meant that this was put on the back burner and never officially released!!!
These were only made in 2012 to a limited number of 250 copies on Black vinyl ( of which this is one) and 250 copies of Blue Vinyl.
The record and sleeve are now separated with the record in a paper sleeve and the picture sleeve now housed in a poly protective sleeve to try and prevent future wear!
These can now command figures in excess of £100 and is the ONLY one i have had available for sale in 14 years , so grab it while you can!!!!
With a LOW starting price and NO RESERVE you might be able to grab yourself a bargain!!!
