Description
ELVIS PRESLEY – ELVIS
RCA Victor LPM-1382 | 1956 | Original U.S. Mono Pressing
A beautiful early RCA Victor copy of Elvis Presley’s second RCA album, originally issued in 1956.
This is the classic black-label RCA Victor “New Orthophonic” High Fidelity mono pressing, with the early label design, “Band” track numbering and small “ELVIS” above the spindle hole. The jacket also features an original-era RCA advertising back, making this a particularly desirable presentation for collectors of Elvis Presley’s early RCA catalog.
VINYL – VG+/EX
The record is exceptionally clean for a 1956 original.
The playing surfaces retain excellent gloss and show only a few very light, barely visible hairlines under strong light. There are no significant scratches or deep marks visible.
This is an unusually attractive example of an early LPM-1382 and would make an excellent listening copy as well as a very nice addition to a serious Elvis collection.
Please examine all photographs carefully — the actual record pictured is the record you will receive.
COVER – VG+
The front cover is clean and displays beautifully, with excellent overall color and presentation.
The spine has been professionally/carefully repaired. The repair is very well executed and the spine remains fully legible. There is also a reinforcement repair along the upper seam, visible in the photographs.
These repairs are disclosed here intentionally. They are the reason I am not grading the jacket higher, despite its very attractive overall appearance.
The rear cover is the desirable RCA advertising-back style, featuring contemporary RCA releases.
ORIGINAL RCA INNER SLEEVE
Includes the period RCA Victor inner sleeve pictured, featuring the “Enjoy the music you want – when you want it… AND HEAR IT RIGHT!” record-care information.
