ELVIS PRESLEY – “FOR LP FANS ONLY” (LPM-1990) – FIRST PRESSING  

RECORD:  VG- with numerous surface scuffs & scratches. None of these can be felt with the fingertip, but expect some audible disturbance nonetheless. Unfortunately, I do not always have the time to test-play the records that I post, but do try to give an accurate opinion based upon visual inspection. The labels on this Rockaway pressing remain very attractive with just some light spindle marks noticed. This album was released in 1959, during Elvis’ U.S. Army enlistment and includes songs previously released on 45 RPM only. They are now seen for the first time on LP, ergo, the name of the album! The matrix numbers end with 2S/3S.

COVER:  VG+ with about a ½-inch upper seam split, which is very minor when compared to the vast majority of these early covers. There is a small amount of corner wear as well as very minimal edge wear from storage. In fact, all edges as well as the spine are smooth and consistent and the spine fully legible. A small amount of bend marks are noticed as well as some light surface scuffing on both sides from contact with other LP’s. There is absolutely no tape, writing, graffiti or staple holes anywhere on this cover. Fully original and so clean for a cover of 57 years of age!

INNER SLEEVE:  The original RCA Victor sleeve from 1959, which depicts several newly available Easy Listening albums of the time. Elvis Presley was RCA Victor’s exclusive Rock ‘n Roll artist until the early 1960’s. There are a few splits on the sleeve, so the record will come housed in an additional plain white sleeve.
