For LP Fans Only è il settimo album di Elvis Presley, emesso da RCA Victor nel Febbraio del 1959. Si tratta di una selezione di materiale da una sessione di registrazioni nell'Agosto del 1956 al 20th Century Fox Stage One, da una sessione di Settembre del 1956 alla Radio Recorders di Hollywood, da sessioni del 10 e 11 Gennaio eseguite presso la RCA Victor Studios di Nashville, di altre due presso la RCA Victor Studios di New York, e delle sessioni multiple al Sun Studio. L'album ha raggiunto il numero 19 nella Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.
For LP Fans Only is the seventh album by Elvis Presley, issued by RCA Victor in February 1959. It is a selection of material from an August 1956 recording session at 20th Century Fox Stage One, a September 1956 session at Radio Recorders in Hollywood, sessions on January 10 and 11 at the RCA Victor Studios in Nashville, two more at the RCA Victor Studios in New York, and multiple sessions at Sun Studio. The album reached number 19 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.
Insieme con l'album "A Date With Elvis" (RCA LPM-2011), "For LP Fans Only" è una delle più importanti produzioni speciali del giovane re del Rock'n'Roll.Dato che Elvis era stato arruolato nell'esercito degli Stati Uniti, la registrazione non poteva avere luogo, e quindi i produttori discografici scavando in profondità negli archivi sonori trovarono alcuni singoli realizzati nel periodo trascorso alla Sun Records, li mescolato con un paio di prime canzoni RCA e con un certo numero tratto dalla colonna sonora di "Love Me Tender", e, oplà! un nuovo Elvis LP era nato. Il successo travolgente di questo album non si limita solo alla omogeneità stilistica di questa raccolta di canzoni, fresche e giovanili. Molto più, è perché per molti fan la cronaca ha offerto l'unica sostituzione dei molto ambiti, ma rari singoli originali "That’s All Right", "Mystery Train" and "My Baby Left Me".
Non senza ragione la generazione "bits-and-bytes"di oggi ha ignorato le parole sulla copertina e prodotto diversi re-release. Che vanno solo a sottolineare l'opinione diffusa che questo è uno dei migliori album di Elvis e allo stesso tempo uno dei più importanti di tutto il rock'n'roll.

Along with the album "A Date With Elvis" (RCA LPM-2011), "For LP Fans Only" is one of the most important special productions of the young King of Rock’n’Roll. Because Elvis had been conscripted into the US army, no new recordings could take place, and so record producers delved deep into the sound archives and dug out a few singles from his Sun Records days, mixed them with a couple of early RCA songs and a number from the "Love Me Tender" soundtrack, and, hey presto! a new Elvis LP was born. The overwhelming success of this album is not solely confined to the stylistic homogeneity of this collection of fresh, youthful songs. Far more, it’s because for many fans the record offered the only substitution for the highly coveted but rare original singles "That’s All Right", "Mystery Train" and "My Baby Left Me".
Not without reason has today’s 'bits-and-bytes' generation ignored the words on the cover and produced several re-releases. Which just goes to emphasise the widespread opinion that this is one of Elvis’s very best albums and at the same time one of the most important in the whole of rock’n’roll .
