Description

1960 1st mono pressing of G.I. Blues on RCA - silver spot label and pressed by Decca. Matrix 1B/1B. Tax code =E/T. These matrix numbers and label are consistent with very 1st press. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original cover with scalloped flipbacks which is uncredited, again indicative of 1st issue. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Interference is minimal and infrequent. All we detected was a touch of light static in a couple of isolated moments - and certainly nothing remotely invasive. Playback is a real treat.
Cover (Ex+) Remains in astonishing condition. Lovely shiny front which seems to have almost totally escaped ageing - just some laminate loss in the extreme top-right. The rear seems to have almost totally escaped fading. The flipbacks are all perfectly intact - this really is very unusual. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. A really very impressive example.
Inner (Ex-) A bit of light ageing and no splits.
