Description
Great copy of this rarity, has push marks and all errata indicating a very first pressing. Both sides play through okay with some noise, A-side intro is noisiest but resolves near the first guitar break. Both sides have lots of tiny marks and the B-side has a few (~15) microscopic remnants of tiny paint (or maybe whiteout) spatter that has been meticulously cleaned and removed. These spots appear larger in the photo than they do in person, I think the lighting or the camera exaggerated their size a bit. This does not affect reproduction, which is decent. B-side plays just fine with less noise than the A, surprisingly, which doesn’t have any paint at all. Either way both sides play through just fine without any skips or sticks and are completely audible, no blasting or loss of reproduction beyond some mild hiss, and the music powers through this surprisingly well. Labels are fairly clean, A-side looks nice with tiny owner’s inscription in black ink, B-side has some weird issues but is still legible. If you are super discerning about condition then this is probably not the copy for you, but if you want a playable, extremely rare artifact of 1950’s Memphis for a reasonable price then this is not a bad copy at all. The vinyl even retains some gloss and it looks really nice in a clean new sleeve.
