Description

This is the 45rpm Extended Play Album RCA Victor released for Elvis in April 1956 simply titled "Heartbreak Hotel", named after Elvis' very first #1 single that was released few months earlier. Unlike many think the cover photo of the EP was never featured with the 45/78rpm single releases of Heartbreak Hotel, it was always used for the EP only - and it became essentially iconic over the years.
The EP features four songs;
Side 1 - Heartbreak Hotel / I Was The One Side 2 - Money Honey / I Forgot To Remember To Forget
THE SLEEVE - the condition of the sleeve is excellent; for something that was released over 60 years ago it is in beautiful shape, the corners are quite sharp and the seams are tight, no splits. The back cover shows some discoloration which is to be expected, the white parts in the front do the same but the actual cover shot slick looks practically NM - there's no ring wear, rips, tears or writing just a gorgeous version of the iconic cover and certainly fit to display! Beautiful!
THE RECORD - the record looks very solid, it could be graded in the VG+ range no problem; the playing surface has one factory fault where the needle will likely skip on both sides - it's a tiny "bump" on the other side, and a "hole" on the other at the exact same spot. The vinyl also shows handling/play wear, some hairline scratches and other signs of use but absolutely nothing drastic. The labels are as beautiful as they can be - this is the more rare NO DOG LABEL variation RCA used alongside their own "Nipper" label, these were released alongside the Nipper ones, they were just pressed in different plants.

Overall an excellent copy of the iconic EPA-821 "Heartbreak Hotel" EP - it is not perfect but this is something that was released over 60 years ago so it should show some signs of it and it will look great on any fans collection, or will make a great gift for a fellow fan.
