Elvis Presley "Hound Dog"/"Don't Be Cruel" July 13, 1956
RARE ORIGINAL, RCA Victor, 20-6604, Seated Dog
Original 78 rpm release (July 13, 1956) of the double-A-side single, "Hound Dog" and "Don't Be Cruel." Matrix numbers G2WB-5935/6. Don't be confused to see G2WB instead of G2WW -- G2WW was used for the 45 rpm release, not the 78! "New Orthophonic High Fidelity" on the left side of the label. This is the original recording of two of Presley's world-famous hit(s), recorded just one day after his notorious performance of "Hound Dog" on The Steve Allen Show, on which the singer performed the song in front of an actual Basset hound dog. The vinyl is in good to very good condition, with only the minor scuffs that can be expected with a record of its age. Unfortunately, as collectors, we regret that this record is not in its mint condition, but it still sounds great on the turntable, with only a bit of surface noise on playback.TRACK LISTING:
