Description
Elvis Presley 45 EP King Creole Vol 1 EPA-5122 Gold Standard Series still sealed tight shrink.
There is some type of black markings on the front cover slick under the shrink.
Sometimes this is on the shrink but I think it on the slick.
It is my understanding the these EPs were sometimes sealed at the factory, sometimes by the distributors and often by individual record shops. Or not at all. Also the cover slick was skewed to the right and a small part of it was sliced off. If I were smarter I would open to see if it might be the elusive and extremely rare ‘maroon’ label variation.

For Elvis soundtrack to his 1958 film, King Creole, RCA again tinkered with the release order of the album and its accompanying EPs. This time two EPs, containing a total of 8 songs from the movie, were released in July 1958, a full two and a half months before the LP was released in mid-September. By this time, RCA had realized that Presley’s teenage market preferred EPs to long playing albums. The two King Creole EPs sold a half million copies each, while the movie soundtrack album sold only half as much when released in the fall
