Description
Fifteen 7 inch singles by Elvis Presley. Most in very good condition.
I have not played them but they seem in very good condition. They are in protective plastic sleeves. Please look at all the pics and be sure BEFORE you bid. Happy to answer any questions.
1) Easy Question/It Feels So Right. ---- Both sleeve and record look great
2) U.S. Male/Stay Away PROMO. Sleeve and record in very good condition. I really don't know how "rare" this one is. It is regularly listed by itself for over $100. But that is meaningless. This one is in nice condition but was clearly actually used.
3) Charro/Memories -- The record is a reissue and is in excellent condition. It is the only reissue in the whole lot and the record is great, but the sleeve is the original. The sleeve is in poor condition and is in two pieces. It is only held together by the plastic sleeve. Of the whole collection, this one is in the worst shape.
4)In The Ghetto/Any Day Now -- Sleeve has some minor damage visible on one side only. Record is excellent
5)Suspicious Minds/You'll Think of Me -- Small handwritten number "4" written in corner on one side of sleeve. Otherwise, good+ and record excellent.
6)Wonder of You/Mama Liked The Roses -- slight discoloration at bottom of sleeve only on one side. Excellent record and sleeve otherwise.
7)Life/Only Believe -- small handwritten "26" on sleeve. Excellent record and sleeve otherwise.
8)Merry Christmas Baby/O Come All Ye Faithful — record is fine, one side of sleeve is ok but other has tear. See pics. This record and sleeve by itself regularly is listed for hundreds of dollars.
9)Bosom of Abraham/He Touched Me —- record and sleeve both nice. This is another rare one that gets listed on eBay for over $100 by itself all the time
10)Burning Love/It's a Matter of Time -- Record is excellent but sleeve is not great. See pictures. Fold lines and wrinkled in corner.
11)Always on My Mind/Separate Ways -- record excellent, sleeve VG+
12)Fool/Steamroller Blues -- record excellent, sleeve has minor wear. G+
13)Raised on Rock/For Ol' Times Sake -- record excellent, sleeve VG
14)I've Got a Thing About You Baby/Take Good Care of Her -- record excellent, sleeve VG
15)Pieces of My Life/Bringing It Back - record excellent, sleeve VG
It is a nice collection overall, representing Elvis' Renaissance in the late 1960's with Jerry Reed on US Male (though the flip side is the better song and vocal. Stay Away features the tune from Greensleeves.). The next single has Memories from the "68 Comeback Special". Mega-hits Suspicious Minds, In The Ghetto and Burning Love are here. Steamroller Blues from Elvis 1973 Aloha from Hawaii is the flip side to Fool. The beautiful Always on My Mind is here too, with equally beautiful Separate Ways. A great blues Christmas song and a traditional one as well as a gospel single are here too. The final single here is one of Elvis' saddest. Both songs about desperate longing for the past and sadness. Elvis would only live a few years more.
These 15 singles tell the story of Elvis' comeback and ascendancy to the absolute heights, with the global broadcast of Aloha, to the dissolution of his marriage and, maybe a feeling of having conquered it all with nothing left. It's a great way for a vinyl lover to get into this amazing era of Elvis.
