Up for auction is this RARE BLACK VINYL copy of the Elvis Presley album Moody Blue issued in 1980.  Not to be confused with the first issue of this album from 1977, this is the later reissue.
A brief history is that this album was originally released in 1977 before Elvis passed away.  It was then decided to switch from black vinyl to blue vinyl.  Supposedly the blue vinyl pressings were going to be a small run and then they were going to go back to black.  With Elvis' untimely death it was decided to keep the presses going 24/7 to meet the demand for his music.  So they kept pressing it on blue vinyl.  Moody Blue was then reissued in 1980 on black vinyl which is this one.  The rarest Moody Blue albums (not including a few pressed on red, white, green, and yellow vinyl) are the following:  first 1977 black vinyl pressing, reissued 1980 black vinyl pressing, and then any of the millions upon millions copies pressed on blue vinyl.
The jacket is still in the shrink wrap and is in EX condition.  There is no evidence that it had the Best Buy Series sticker on it.  The record is in EX condition as well.  While not the rarest Elvis album in existence, this is still a hard one to get.
