Description
An original Elvis Presley No. 2 LP from 1957. Cat No. CLP 1105. HMV Label. Have played all tracks to test on a rather cheap no frills record player - a professional clean & better equipment would benefit. Fully detailed condition below with Matrix Numbers. In short, picture sleeve very poor as can see, vinyl has a warp to edge affects 'So Glad You're Mine' & 'Old Shep' though all of Side 1 unaffected. There is some crackle as may expect albeit 'very' feint, more noticeable on quieter tracks, otherwise does play remarkably well & clear considering age/use. Please see all photos as part of condition. I have tried to be as specific as can with everything but if you have any further questions please ask. Will be sent in a Music Max Defendapack for vinyls by post & as Signed For. Thank you for looking.
Cat No. CLP 1105
What I think is called Tax No. at centre of label XT
Matrix Nos.
Side 1: G2 - WP - 7207 - 2N (also to rhs of label in alignment with Cat No. says GP)
Side 2: G2 - WP - 7208 - 1N (also to rhs of label in alignment with Cat No. says GO)
Picture Sleeve: Very poor condition, front several major tears, piece missing at top, laminate lifting & parts missing, discoloured. Reverse 1 major tear, several smaller to edges, bit missing at top edge.
Inner Sleeve: All 3 sides intact but little discoloured with age, well-handled at opening edge so worn a bit thin & with small tear.
Vinyl:
1) Warped edge in 1 place which affects first 2 tracks on Side 2 - So Glad You're Mine & Old Shep (jumps 2-3 times on each) but does not affect tracks on Side 1 at all strangely - Side 1 it 'dips', Side 2 it goes 'over'.
2) Some very feint crackle though more noticeable on quieter tracks & inbetween tracks. I would not say it affects the overall sound so much as voice is very clear & sounds good.
3) Some wear & tear to labels both sides.
4) Several surface hairline marks both sides as expected with age/play & 1 what looks like a deep scratch on Side 2 (clearly seen in photo) - it is a scratch & cannot be that deep as it is not affecting play of the tracks it covers. Overall a surprisingly good play but would obviously benefit from a professional clean.
