Description
I’m having a clearout of various vinyl and bits and bobs so please take a look at my other items all being sold with no reserve and 99p start, everything is packed very well and sent out as quick as I can.
This is my back up copy ofl Elvis Presley No2 on the 1st pressing UK HMV lable CLP1105
Ok so given that grading is subjective and an opinion I will use my grading system which is playing it and looking at it, I have been collecting (not dealing, I am not a record dealer) for 35 years
Firstly the sleeve, its intact for starters with none of the usual ten inch tears through it or huge chunks missing.
The laminate is also intact
the front cover to look at is very very presentable with just two small areas of picture missing (i’d say 5mm square) A little fraying at the opening but nothing serious and a few crease marks around the extremities but looking at it head on its a very presentable cover
the rear of the cover is also very nice for its age, there are no serious issues with the rear of the sleeve apart from a little record ring that is very common on white sleeves from the 50’s overall the sleeve is very respectable and my own copy is very similar, anyone buying this will know these are always battered, No2 being usually moreso than the first LP as by now Presley was a houshold name much to the chagrin of many parents of the day watching their wayward offspring wobble thier pelvises in a copycat manner. the few mint ones that exist seldom are released from the icy grip of collectors.
The inner sleeve is near mint, it may be a replacement but if so its an old one with the lining and is superb and in keeping.
So the vinyl.
well for starters I’ve played it all the way through with a SME tone arm and Shure cartridge and it plays through fine with no skips or serious noises
There are a few light scratches but not serious, it plays beautifully, side 2 is better with hardly anything noticeable but bear in mind even im being picky here, this isnt a typical party copy, this has obviously been looked after
This is a very very respectable ‘keeper’ copy
The best thing is to use your eyes and look at the pictures, the camera never lies
I hope it finds a good home
