ELVIS PRESLEY - “ROUSTABOUT” (LPM-2999), A SCARCE FIRST PRESSING WITH "MONO" LABELS! RECORD: VG+ with pleasing, glossy surfaces. However, there are some concentric needle tracks that have very little effect on the playback. This Hollywood pressing was tested in its entirety and although the vocals and instrumentation were strong, there was some light surface noise detected. There are definitely no skips nor repeats! The labels are beautiful, with just a few very light spindle marks and some fingerprinting. This Original Soundtrack Album was released in October of 1964. Hollywood had the exclusive privilege of utilizing the Silver Top labels with large "MONO" or "STEREO" at the 6 O'clock position on the labels. These were quite limited, however, and the catalog number was soon pressed using the newer style labels with the "RCA Victor" logo changed to white. Although the album spawned no singles, it is among the very best of Elvis' movie soundtracks. The matrix numbers on this record end with 3S/12S. COVER: VG++ (EXC) with solid edges as well as a fully legible spine. There is some light to moderate ring wear, the most noticeable being just above Elvis' hairline on the front. Some minor corner tip wear is noticed. There are no seam splits, tape, writing or staple holes anywhere on this cover. INNER SLEEVE: The original "ELVIS' Great LP Catalog" (40A) sleeve from the era.
