Turquoise Marble Vinyl Limited Edition Of 100 LPs. In August 2007 for the 30th anniversary of Elvis' passing Sony/RCA produced 1,000 promotional copies of Elvis Presley Rock 'n Roll No. 1 and Elvis Presley Rock 'n Roll No. 2. These 10" long playing albums were manufactured on marble vinyl in the following colors: turquoise, purple, green, black, yellow, white and pink. The Turquoise Marble version was produced in an extremely limited 100 copies pressing. They were produced on the original gorgeous His Master's Voice label. These two albums were Elvis' first 2 LPs released exclusively in Great Britain in the 1950's. At that time RCA was being distributed by Decca. These LPs as well as his 2 extended plays and first singles on the HMV label are Europe's version of our Sun releases in both rarity and audio quality. In August 2007 Sony/RCA produced a limited edition set of 30 paper sleeve CDs that replicated the original American artwork. They ran a contest in Japan that allowed the buyers of the $1,000 set of CDs the opportunity to remove the sticker obi's and stick these obi's on a card they provided which the buyer could then mail back to RCA. They then held a random drawing and 1,000 lucky fans would receive 1 of the LP titles in one of the vinyl variations described above. The pink version, which was produced to match the pink writing on Elvis' legendary first album, being the real prize as only 25 copies for each title were pressed. The astounding thing is that Sony/RCA used the pure original mono tapes creating the most amazing audio examples ever for these legendary recordings. Mint, brand new, uncirculated condition.
