ELVIS PRESLEY - “SPEEDWAY” (LSP-3989), A SCARCE ORANGE LABEL, HOLLYWOOD PRESSING ON RIGID VINYL! RECORD: VG+ on the upper end of the scale, with pleasing, glossy surfaces. There are just some very light surface scuffs & scratches that have very little effect on the audible performance. This Original Soundtrack Recording was test-played in its entirety and the sound was fantastic! There are absolutely no skips or repeats, although a couple of subtle "ticks" were noticed as well as a bit of surface noise at the introduction on each side; very normal for a record of this vintage. The Orange, "Deep Groove" labels on this Hollywood pressing are very clean and original with some light spindle marks noticed, but no writing or stickers. Jerry Osborne, in his "Presleyana VIII" (2017), places a value on these early Orange Labels at three times the value of the First Pressings! The matrix numbers end with 8S/8S. This album was originally released in June of 1966. COVER: VG++ (EXC) with absolutely no seam splits, tape, writing or staple holes. Very minimal wear is seen along the spine and edges. However, there is some minor corner tip wear as well as scant ring wear, which is barely noticeable. This is a very clean, original cover! INNER SLEEVE: The original "ELVIS' Great LP Catalog" (40D) sleeve from the era.
