RANDALL AT SAILING.
CONDITION / GRADING:
The Picture Sleeve Cover is in Near Mint to Mint- or better Condition.
The Cover Pic Sleeve is flat, no split seams, no ring wear, no record indention, no creases, no nics, no tears, no rips, no price tag, no sticker residue.
The opening edge on the front and back are smooth. .
The Cover PS has the beauty of the patina of age with normal slight handling of age, part of its' history, part of it's charm. It's been stored in my WASS, The Warehouse of the Aisles of Sight & Sound - WASS, from the 1960's.
The single is in Near Mint or better Condition, bright, shiny, clean, no scratches, few slight light surface marks.
The Label is in Mint- Condition.
It's one thing to see the image, it's another and more exciting to actually hold it in your hands and to have a part of Elvis History.
Read On About Grading Conditions:
The Gradings System is: Mint-, Near Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good. Fair.
Singles are graded visually unless distractions are noted.
I generally do not state Mint Condition of a record unless it meets certain high standard conditions.
Condition Distractions If Mentioned:
Light Surface Marks / Scratches, if mentioned, are light on top of the grooves somewhat like a surface scuff/surface marks that do not affect the sound, with the record playing loud and clear.
Near the Groove Light Scratches, when mentioned, more than light surface scratches, yet not affecting play, no skipping, may cause some low sounds or some light in the music ticks, plays loud and clear.
Just About At The Groove Scratches are a bit deeper than Near Groove yet still the record plays with no skipping with possibly some sounds/ticks and generally plays loud and clear, usually Very Good record.
SOME IMPORTANT WORDS ABOUT 1950's & 60's PRESSINGS:
Regarding pressing ingredients, some small label and some large label pressings:
Many of these records are from 30 to around 55 years old. They are are not digital downloads, and therefore, not clean as a whistle. Sometimes they come with their own inherent pressing oddities, sounds, and to the modern ear, possible "slight flaws" - which are not really flaws, but part of the pressing process of older, real vinyl / wax / plastic records.
Some pressings of small labels as well as some larger labels from the 1950's and 1960's and in some instances 70's pressings were made with not the greatest of ingredients, and with these inferior ingredients causing some under the music groove sound - this generally happened with small label pressings, sometimes even with a larger label, yet the music is clear, loud, and present. Also, at times, these smaller label pressings were pressed at cheapie pressing plants or at a big plant, but on the sly late at night without the quality control of the normal commissioned pressing, There may also be tape hissing audible which is part of the recording/pressing.
(NOTE: If you notice the lashmi name on the image, it is just super-imposed over the on-line image, it is not on the actual label - thanks).
