Description

Elvis Presley-Mystery Train-55 RCA PROMO 45-Rockabilly!   Description Here's a toughie: a white label promotional 45 by Elvis Presley, "Mystery Train" b/w "I Forgot To Remember To Forget", issued on RCA Records (47-6357). This was Presley's first issue on the RCA label, released before the ink was dry on his brand new contract! "I Forgot..." was still receiving a lot of airplay, as it had just been a Top 10 Country hit on the Sun label, and RCA wanted to get a little piece of that before it played it's course. RCA later re-issued the other four Sun singles, but I believe this was the ONLY PROMO issued of the original five in the 50s (there may have been promos issued in the 60s). Condition is a very sharp VG+, with minor light scuffs. The label has a little browning, and on the "I Forgot..." side, there is some DJ writing on the label. A very nice copy of this rarity -- a very reasonable reserve has been placed. All records are professionally packed in custom mailer boxes and protected by filler pads.
