Description
PLEASE NOTE: 78 RPM RECORDS ARE VERY FRAGILE! THEY MUST BE PACKED AND SHIPPED WITH GREATER CARE THAN LPs OR 45s. I TAKE GREAT CARE IN PACKING AND SHIPPING 78s. THIS RECORD WILL BE SANDWICHED IN CARDBOARD, WRAPPED IN BUBBLE WRAP, AND THEN NESTED IN STYROFOAM PEANUTS, OR SOMETHING SIMILAR, IN A LARGER BOX.
This is Elvis’ third release on RCA Victor after they bought his contract from Sun Records. It was a re-release of Sun Records #210.
Under a bright light, this copy looks really nice. It has a few spindle marks, I’d say about 4 or 5 that are identifiable on the “Good Rockin’ Tonight” side and only one that I can see on the “I Don’t Care…” side. There is no graying of the grooves. The “I Don’t Care…” side plays beautifully and is Loud & Clear throughout. In addition to a few light scratches and rubs, the major problem is a single rub, almost a wide surface gouge, about ½” long midway through the “Good Rockin’ Tonight” side. See my pix for a view of this defect. This side plays beautifully, Loud & Clear, until the defect, at which time one can hear some barely discernible tics, although it does not cause any skips. The tics start near the end of the first instrumental break and continue a short way into the second vocal refrain. This is an excellent copy of this record that would otherwise grade out at VG+.
It will be shipped in a nice generic sleeve with an accompanying 78 RPM - RCA Victor sleeve of the era.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY!
