Elzadie Robinson- Arkansas Mill Blues/Gold Mansion. Excellent Chicago recorded Louisiana Blues by Elzadie Robinson with Will Ezell on piano. Alex Van Der Tuuk's "The New Paramount Book Of Blues" says Elzadie was form Logansport on the Louisiana-Texas border, just south of Shreveport. Will Ezell "was playing piano in the Newly incorporated sawmill towns which were springing up along the Texas-Louisiana border, and he and Elzadie probably teamed up in the early 20s. Mayo Williams recalled that she came into town (Chicago) with Ezell in 1925. A few years later in October 1928 the duo would cut this 78 in Chicago (where Will also became a busy fella for Paramount).
Record has multiple scuffs and scratches that cause noise during playback. These do not cause any skips or sticks. There is still some shine left on the playing surface and no greying in between the grooves. There is consistent background noise on both sides; I'm not using the best 78 player, which is likely a factor. Black label Paramounts are unfortunately known for being noisy, and this one is no exception. Full audio can be heard below. Please contact me with questions, thanks!
