Sleeve
Un laminated ,single gatefold in almost immaculate condition. The feel of this sleeve is incredible. It feels brand new, hardly touched by human hand. I have stored away from new from the first day I bought it. In a beautiful condition and would be MINT save for a very slight mottled effect on front and reverse covers which I can only describe as a production fault in the manufacturing process(Please see pics). There is no wear and tear on the sleeve, even on the edges so cannot be down to the ageing process! Opens crisp and sharp to a entourage of brilliantly coloured pics .All four Corners are at 90 degrees. Printed and made by the EJ Day Group! The instant you hold this sleeve, you get a general feel of purity and cleanliness that I am sure would be a unique experience when assessing these particular albums covers.
Labels
RARE Pink rim Island. In comparison to others I have seen, these are very bright and have retained their purity with no fading to report. Excellent with only a few hairlines when angled toward the light. Printed and made by the EJ Day Group.
Vinyl
Hardly played. No marks on vinyl unless you tilt at a certain angle under a very bright light. Beautiful thick heavyweight press with a glorious mirror like sheen.Pecko/ Porky etched in run off!!Lovely feel to this and a beautiful vinyl. Vinyl housed in a near perfect inner blue sleeve-its original with a slight discoloration owing to the aging process.
Audio
All bass, acoustic and electric guitars are heard crisp and sharp. Organs, piano, celeste, and moog synthesizer are a delight and come across with very warm tones with a distinct definition. Lyrics are by Greg Lake. Arranged and directed by ELP. The fuse between the rock and classic concepts is totally awesome- probably their best album. Themes used in intro and bridge only- Toccata in F and Prelude VI Bach- sheer class enthuses from the audio in fine style. Near silent grooves and no interference….a collector’s dream of a copy. Will not find a better audio than this!
Summary
A HUGE album released by ELP in 1971. An awesome classic offered here in near MINT condition. Will have to be the best Tarkus album ever to have crossed your path, believe me, there is no comparison! Sleeve, vinyl and audio presented near perfect with a factory new feel!! My guarantee that you will not be disappointed!! Don’t find many in this condition.Very very rare!!
