Description

Up for auction is an extremely rare 1971 MONO promotional pressing of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer/Tarkus. These mono issues were not available commercially and only pressed in very small numbers specifically for AM radio stations still broadcasting in monaural format. For a 50 year old record the vinyl is pretty clean and is visually graded as VG+. There are paper scuffs on both sides of the vinyl and several hairlines that do not detract from the overall sound quality. The fidelity is fantastic with Greg Lake's consummate bass playing being noticeably more pronounced in mono format.  The play grade of both sides is VG++/EX. The gatefold cover is pretty close to a solid VG with some seam splitting, minor shelf ware, and ware at the opening. The inside of the gatefold is practically flawless and the spine is in really nice shape and totally legible. (PLEASE SEE AND ZOOM IN ON PHOTOS).
