The Best of Eric Carmen is a comprehensive 1988 compilation released on Arista Records that chronicles the solo career of one of power pops most influential figures. Following his departure from The Raspberries Carmen established himself as a master of the romantic ballad and melodic rock. This collection includes his massive 1970s hits such as All By Myself and Never Gonna Fall in Love Again alongside his late 1980s comeback smash Hungry Eyes from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. The album serves as a perfect showcase of his classically influenced songwriting and sophisticated vocal arrangements which helped define the adult contemporary and pop rock sounds of two decades.
