Dr. John's Spin Factory asks this question: Have you ever wondered what top flight musicians could create "live" without an audience, that is, recording in a professional studio but without the post production overdubs and similar, uh, how you say, enhancements? Well, here ya' go! Dr. John's is proud to offer up a Mint, 1st pressing of Eric Clapton's From The Cradle. Every song was recorded from start to finish just as you hear it with nothing added or subtracted. Pressed in Germany with the Warner Brothers "W" embossed on the lower right rear of the jacket (verifying this as a 1994 original), this is some great sounding music on vinyl. Specifically, If you enjoy the blues, and if you love the raw, ripping, brilliant, blues guitar of Eric Clapton with his down in the soul raw vocals, then this is the real deal, the genuine article you will not want to miss. Especially cool is the gatefold jacket, my favorite picture being...can you guess? Check out the picture of Sock, Billy, and Treacle. As was stated so perfectly in the title of John Cusack's 2005 movie, "Must love dogs!" I sure do...
Playback of the disc is Near Mint, and especially potent and wonderful following ultrasonic cleaning. The jacket would also be rated at Near Mint were it not for a number of odd creases in the cardboard along the top seam. What happened? Good question. I bought this LP used just as you see it.
The album will come with an audiophile quality sleeve and plastic slipcover. Shipping will be done mindfully: The disc in its sleeve will be placed inside the plastic slipcover outside of its the jacket to prevent the disc from damaging the jacket's spine.
In summary, From The Cradle is both the pure, 'post-war' blues album Clapton fans had craved since his days with the Blues Breakers, it's also one of Clapton's finest moments pushing and pulling on six strings. In other words, this truly is a 'must have' for Clapton fans. Finally, to be sure, this album is very hard to find on vinyl! So...
Good luck! May the Blues bring you at least temporary relief from the suffering of real life...Or, as one author once put it, "Sometimes feeling bad is good." Best, Dr. John
