Description
This is New Jazz Records NJ 8260, Eric Dolphy At The Five Spot Volume 1, a purple label, deep groove original mono issue with RVG in the dead wax. The record is in VG++ condition, with light marks that do not effect the music, which plays quietly throughout.. However, there is a bit of crackle at the beginning of each side, during the spoken patter, before the music starts. On side one this amounts to 6 clicks, on side two just ambient noise. The deep groove labels have light spindle marks but are otherwise excellent. The glossy cover has a 1" split on the top seam, a1/4" bump on the lower left, some slight fraying on the open top and a stain on the back. Despite these minor imperfections the cover is still excellent and intact. This is absolutely, an excellent, collector's grade copy of a very rare original issue. I have entered a modest reserve. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. This is part of a large Jazz record collection I will be offering in the next few months.
