Description
This is New Jazz Records NJLP 8236, Eric Dolphy Outward Bound, a purple, deep groove label, original, mono issue with RVG stamped in the dead wax. This was Mr. Dolphy's 1st session as a leader and has attained a deserved, classic status over the years. It features Freddie Hubbard, Jaki Byard, George Tucker and Roy Haynes. The record is in VG+(+) condition showing some light marks on both sides but playing quietly except for light crackle on some quiet moments in Glad To Be Unhappy. The iconic glossy cover has small bumps on the corners but is otherwise excellent and intact. The labels show a small amount of flaking. This remains a fine collector's grade copy of a rare original issue of this beautiful record. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12.
