TITLE: Cool at The Casa Montego
CONDITION:
Sleeve: The front is very nice and almost Mint- w/ just a touch of wear and great cbright color graphics. The back cover is VG++ w/ some light ring wear except for a tiny tear at the very bottom. The bottom seam is completely split, the top seam has a 2" and 3" split and a tiny top left corner ding w/ a tiny split
Record: Retains high original gloss and looks Mint- / A lot of the LP plays Mint- but also has some short random passages that play with light background ticks and some light random background surface noise. Both sides start off w/ short passages of background surface noise. It's a great recording and plays w/ fantastic sound presence. / VPI cleaned
COMMENTS: Original US deep groove label copy of this rare early Jamaican music on Casmo, a Federal Records (Jamaica) subsidiary label. According to the cover it was recorded in Kingston, Jamaica and the LP was printed & fabricated by Globe Albums Inc, New York, 59, New York. It's a mixture of straight ahead Jazz, Merengue, Calypso, Vocal Ballads and a killer early R&B Boogie track Mind Your Own Business all played extremely well by some real pros. Is the bass player David Brevett any relation to original Skatalite bassist Lloyd Brevett? The rest of the band and track titles are in the third picture.
NOTE: VPI cleaned means that this record was cleaned on a professional $500 cleaning machine, which does wonders for the playback of all vinyl records!
