Description

This is a 78 RPM recording of Ernest Phipps and His Holiness Quartet doing Do, Lord, Remember Me and Old Ship of Zion on Victor 20927. 

Ernest Phipps was a singing preacher from a Pentecostal Holiness Church with a singing group called The Holiness Quartet.  The quartet recorded sides with violin and guitar accompaniment and all were religious in subject matter.  Although his records were released by Victor he did not record again and returned to preaching.
Side A: Do, Lord, Remember Me - A nice clear recording with low hiss and great instrumental breaks, and a nice clean, bright label.

Side B: Old Ship of Zion - Starts out with a little more hiss and lower volume but goes away to reveal a very nice clean recording, with a good label.

The record will be well packaged for shipping.

*** I have been asked to add a VJM based rating.  I have a couple thousand records in my collection so I think I'm pretty fair, but please note I am not a professional grader.

I would rate this record visually overall as a solid E-.  Nice gloss but evidence of play with one surface scratch (at 10x magnification) about 1.5" long in the middle of side A.  No other scuffs, or chips for both sides.  The labels are in E- to E shape with only some slight spindle marks around the hole on side B. No wrinkles, scratches or tears on either label.
