Erykah Badu BADUIZM - The first of the first: A SEALED vinyl pressing of Ms. Badu's debut album. I purchased this LP at Amoeba's Berkeley location around date of release. Note that Picture 3 shows the copyright information showing the correct (1997) date of first pressing. Now's your chance to get this huge selling, HUGELY influential collectible, at a fair market price!

IMPORTANT: The LP is factory sealed, and overall is actually in MINT condition. However, there are issues: the corners are not bumped or damaged, but a couple of them are not perfect 90 degree angles either. Pictures 6 through 13 show closeups of each album corner beginning with the front upper left, to upper right, to lower left, to lower right, and then repeated in that order for the rear. 
The other issue is an area approximately 2 1/4" wide along the rear lower right where the shrink wrap has torn/shrunk, and the LP cover has been scratched (please see Picture 13).

NOTE: The outer shrink wrap tends to reflect the image of the overhead ceiling fixture. If you see a round white/blue circle on the cover, that is the reflection.

I’ve been a satisfied customer of Amoeba Music since they opened their first store in Berkeley, CA in the early 1990s. For many years I visited Amoeba’s San Francisco store every week after they opened their doors, and since my work put me in the Los Angeles area many times a year, I’ve enjoyed many, many visits to that location. I’ve purchased over 1,000 records from Amoeba over the last 30+ years, many of which I intend to sell here on Ebay.
Because Amoeba is a “brick and mortar” store they need to have security systems in place to prevent theft AND price tag switching. These systems include sealing both the price tags and shoplifting security strips with packing tape. PICTURES 4 AND 5 SHOW HOW AMOEBA HAS TAPED OVER THE PRICE STICKER AND AFFIXED A SECURITY STRIP TO THE REAR. SINCE THE LP WAS SHRINK WRAPPED AT THE FACTORY, THE TAPE SITS ON THE SHRINK WRAP, NOT THE ALBUM COVER. 
IMPORTANT: In the past when I’ve resold Amoeba LPs on Ebay, I’ve gotten questions from bidders concerned that the albums might have been resealed, or wondering why there is packing tape over shrink wrap. Therefore, it is important to know that all Amoeba locations use WHITE price tags when an album is sealed and new. Amoeba uses YELLOW price tags for all used albums. Finally, if Amoeba purchases a sealed record from a customer and resells it, Amoeba uses a WHITE price tag with a BLUE line drawn across the top. 
BTW, you do not have to take my word for this: I encourage you to call one of the Amoeba stores and I’m confident they will confirm these facts.  
Furthermore, the LPs I’m selling on Ebay were all purchased by me personally. I have no time, interest, ability, or inclination to rip people off…the albums I sell are exactly as described. If you have ANY doubts or concerns about this, PLEASE do not bid on my records.

ABOUT SHIPPING AND HANDLING: Please note there is a $3 fee included in Ebay's estimate of Media Mail shipping costs. The shipping boxes for a standard LP cost me over $3 each (more for boxed sets and larger items), and the average total cost of shipping materials is around $4.72, so this is NOT a money-maker for me. However, it does ensure, consistently, that these high value LPs arrive safely. Please check my feedback and I think you'll see that buyers appreciate the care with which these precious artifacts are handled. 
COMBINED SHIPPING: I am more than happy to combine shipping. Ebay buyers pay the actual postage costs. If a single LP is purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $3 for shipping materials. If two LPs are purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $3 for shipping materials. If three or more LPs are purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $0 for shipping materials (I will absorb the cost of materials). As the final amount can only be calculated after auctions have ended, I will issue the appropriate refund on the day the LPs are shipped.
